Pat McKenna spends the majority of his time consulting, servicing and selling to contractors for bid, performance and payment bonds and bond department administration.
He has been involved in the surety industry since 1984. He spent 13 years with a national surety underwriting company, beginning in Milwaukee, WI. Pat moved to Tampa, FL where he became a Supervising Underwriter and then became the Assistant Bond Manager in the Baltimore, MD Branch Office. Pat advanced to the position of Surety Manager in both Wichita, KS and Des Moines, IA.
In 1997, Pat moved through the agency ranks, focusing solely on the construction industry. Pat became a leader in the sales management process. In 2007, Pat began his career with Hausmann-Johnson Insurance as the Director of Surety. Responsible for all facets of the bond department, Pat manages the current surety client relationships as well as assumes new business responsibilities.
Pat earned his BA in Business Administration from Marquette University and MBA from The University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. His professional designations include CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) and AFSB (Associate in Fidelity-Surety Bonding).
Pat has been active in various construction related associations. He has been past President of the Surety Association of Wisconsin; Active in the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin (Legislative Committee Member); Associated Building Contractors of Wisconsin (Legislative Committee Member) and Construction Financial Management Association of Madison (Currently the Chapter President and Golf Chair; previously, served as Secretary on the Board of Directors). Pat is also active as a member of the WTBA.
Pat was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and moved to Madison after several years out of the State. He has become active in the community, having served on the YMCA Building and Facilities Committee; 9 years on his Parish Council; leadership as Athletic Association President of Our Lady Queen of Peace School for 6 years; as well as various youth coaching positions for Fitchburg Recreation, YMCA and Our Lady Queen of Peace. He resides in Fitchburg with his wife Pam. They have 2 boys and 3 girls.
